PEARL TESTING

  • Service is provided for natural, cultured, and imitation pearls in loose as well as mounted form, wherever testing conditions permit.
  • Testing is carried out only under controlled laboratory conditions, in accordance with international gemological standards.
  • Pearl testing includes determination of pearl type (natural / cultured / imitation), mollusk origin where possible, structure, surface characteristics, luster, shape, color, and size.
  • Advanced gemological instruments and non-destructive testing techniques are used to examine nacre thickness, growth structures, surface features, and internal characteristics.
  • The full pearl testing report includes identification, measurements, weight, color description, luster grade, surface quality, shape, and remarks on treatment, if any.
  • A summary report contains essential identification details but may not include detailed structural observations.
  • In case of doubt regarding the authenticity or origin of the pearl, a conclusive identification may not be issued, and a fixed laboratory examination charge will be applicable.
  • If any treatment or enhancement is present but remains undetected during routine laboratory examination, the laboratory shall not be held responsible for the same.
  • Dyed, treated, or composite pearls are clearly disclosed where detected during examination.
