- Service is provided in respect of cut and polished stones, loose or mounted, tumbled stones, beads, figurines, carvings and rough crystals.
- Non-destructive testing methods only are employed.
- Distinction is made between natural and synthetic stones.
- If a treatment is detected, the same is indicated under “Comments”.
- Reports of geographic origin are provided in respect of emerald, ruby and sapphire, on specific request, and are charged separately.
- Gem Identification reports are provided in the following formats –
- Full report – indicating all parameters measured, characteristics observed and an image of the stone.
- Card report – indicating all vital characteristics and an image of the stone.

DIAMOND SORTING
DIAMOND SORTING SERVICES FOR GEMSTONE TRADERS AND DIAMOND BUYERS
- A great percentage of small diamonds are cut and polished in India. Not only are these exported in large quantities, the domestic consumption levels are quite high. Such diamonds, normally referred as stars and mellee, need to be assorted carefully for the purpose of categorization and hence, value ACGS provides this service for diamond merchants and buyers who look to trade in lots of sorted goods.
- Assortment is carried out on the basis of color, clarity and cut.
- Assortment service is provided in respect of loose diamonds for sizes above +4 sieve size only.
- Minimum weight of packet accepted for assortment is 3.00 carats.
DIAMONDS
Diamonds are available in all grades of color and clarity. We offer stones with XXX and VG cut grades. All diamonds are pre-examined at ACGS before being cleared for sale. We also make available GIA certified solitaires.
ACGS Diamond Grading Report is provided with all other solitaires at a nominal fee.
- Stars – all sieve sizes available
- Melee – sizes up to 10 cents, cutting styles include fancy shapes
- Pointers – All sizes upto 40 cents
- Solitaires – up to 2.0 carat and above in any of the prevalent cutting styles
- Fancy colors – fancy yellow and champagne colored stones in different sizes pear, princess, marquise, emerald
- Other sizes – up to 30 cents, cutting styles include RBC, pear, princess, marquise, emerald
PEARL TESTING
- Service is provided for natural, cultured, and imitation pearls in loose as well as mounted form, wherever testing conditions permit.
- Testing is carried out only under controlled laboratory conditions, in accordance with international gemological standards.
- Pearl testing includes determination of pearl type (natural / cultured / imitation), mollusk origin where possible, structure, surface characteristics, luster, shape, color, and size.
- Advanced gemological instruments and non-destructive testing techniques are used to examine nacre thickness, growth structures, surface features, and internal characteristics.
- The full pearl testing report includes identification, measurements, weight, color description, luster grade, surface quality, shape, and remarks on treatment, if any.
- A summary report contains essential identification details but may not include detailed structural observations.
- In case of doubt regarding the authenticity or origin of the pearl, a conclusive identification may not be issued, and a fixed laboratory examination charge will be applicable.
- If any treatment or enhancement is present but remains undetected during routine laboratory examination, the laboratory shall not be held responsible for the same.
- Dyed, treated, or composite pearls are clearly disclosed where detected during examination.
